About us

About Us

Raisinghand is a nonprofit organization focused on helping youth and young adults who have been incarcerated, are at risk of incarceration, or are struggling on the streets. We provide the guidance, education, and life skills needed to break these cycles and build better futures. Through mentorship and community support, we offer alternatives to street life, job training, and a safe environment where young people can grow and thrive, creating lasting change in both their lives and the communities around them.

Mission

Our mission is to empower at-risk youth and young adults through mentorship, education, and life skills training, providing tools to break free from cycles of incarceration and reintegrate into their communities.

Vision

Our vision is to create a compassionate world where everyone is treated with dignity and those in need are empowered to reclaim their freedom.

Future Goals.

Our future goals include expanding outreach to reach more at-risk and incarcerated youth, extending our programs into new communities, and offering additional services like family support and aftercare. We aim to develop more transitional housing units, ensuring a stable and safe environment for youth transitioning from incarceration or homelessness. By building partnerships with local businesses, we plan to enhance job training and apprenticeship opportunities, offering broader career paths. We will strengthen access to trauma-informed counseling and mental health resources to promote emotional healing, while collaborating with policymakers to drive justice reform and reduce youth incarceration rates. Additionally, we seek to build a stronger community support network through volunteers and mentors and launch specialized programs to address the unique needs of LGBTQ youth and those requiring specific behavioral health services.
